Pat among the stacks at Pages first shop in 1981Patricia, the founder of Pages, used to frequent a little vacuum repair shop because it had a small selection of used books in the corner. One day the lady running the shop said “I’ll sell you the whole lot if you want” Pat laughed as she bought her couple books but the thought stuck with her all week long, so she went back to the vacuum shop and asked “were you serious about that?” After several months of living among stacks and stacks of boxes in her living room Pat found a space to rent in the front of a little office building on Baker street in downtown Cranbrook and opened up shop.

Pat made the difficult decision to sell her shop in 1986 and took a step back from business life. After a few years she then connected with the new owners and came back to work for them.

Over the years the shop was run by two sets of fabulous past owners and experienced a couple growth spurts and moves before settling in at it’s current location. Eventually after years of running the store in a management position Pat, along with her daughter Christy, decided to buy back the business in 2008.

Pages slowly evolved into the book emporium that it is today. The book stacks have gotten taller, the magazine shelves longer and the product selection broader. The thing that has remained as a constant thoughout is our love of books.

Our instock book selection, if shelved in one row side by side, would fill the length of 15 NHL hockey rinks.

We have the largest selection of new magazines in the Kootenays and a great selection of current and back issue comics.

Along with our puzzles, paint by numbers and board game sections we carry dice and gaming cards like Magic The Gathering and Pokemon.

Our selection of pop culture and comic character themed items like tin lunch boxes, bobbleheads, wallets and figures are constantly revolving keeping our stock fun and interesting for regular visitors.

Pages offers a casual comfortable atmosphere, perfect for all ages.
